Further to the investment article about the Salesforce product used by Kavia (http://kavia.wpengine.com/2012/kmp-news-investments-salesforce-system/), Iain Hill attended the company’s winter ’13 UK release event on 2 October at Reading FC Stadium. The company hosts user events throughout the world for each of its major product releases, typically three times per year.
The winter ’13 release is all about Social Enterprise and the new Touch interface for mobile devices. Social media is dramatically changing how we connect, share, and collaborate with employees, partners and customers, internally, B2B and with consumers. All of these people are using social media – Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram and many others – for an average of 8 hours per month. That’s 4.5 billion active users turning to social media as their main resource, rather than calling help desks or visiting company websites. Salesforce video summarising social enterprise and Chatter project example with will.i.am can be found on our video page http://kavia.wpengine.com/video/
Kavia is already using social enterprise tools such as the Salesforce Chatter product to communicate daily activities, sales reporting and resources, minimising email traffic whilst associating activity with business topics and groups. We also use Chatter as a secure communication portal for our new rowing and sculling resellers around the world, as a place where all the parties involved in this process can exchange information, knowledge, events, product insights and downloadable supporting documents, connecting all of our international resellers in one community forum.
Externally, Kavia Moulded Products has a social presence on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter, as well as this weekly news blog within our website. We are also expanding our social enterprise for the rowing and sculling products, inviting our end users to connect with us as well as setting up user groups for feedback on our products and, in some cases, to help us develop new products.
