On Wednesday 24th April Kavia visited the Buy Yorkshire event in Leeds. With over 170 exhibitors across 2 halls including our design partners TRIG Creative it was an exploratory visit to see what this Yorkshire region specific event had to offer Kavia Moulded Products for networking, sourcing new suppliers or even exhibiting in the future.
The 2-day event also offered 23 keynote speakers from industry, seminars and workshops. The event is in its 3rd year and is hosted by ‘The Yorkshire Mafia’ business networking group that started in LinkedIN and now has over 13,200 members. The event estimated over 3,000 delegates would visit and it certainly felt like it with a real buzz of enthusiasm and activity.
Kavia Moulded Products is an injection moulding company based near Todmorden in West Yorkshire so it was interesting to see who was exhibiting and how busy the event was. Of the those exhibiting there wasn’t so much manufacturing represented but there was a lot of service industries such as; consultants, accountants, HR, insurance, website developers, SEO consultants, trade organisations, banks, event venues and Universities.
Also at the event was ‘YorBuy’ buying group created from LinkedIN Yorkshire Mafia Group network demand for business purchases in office consumables, fuel, insurance and gas/electricity. Basic membership is free and there are subscription options for higher levels of service.
From manufacturing there were a few packaging suppliers, solar power, LED lighting and one injection moulding competitor to Kavia so maybe not the best event for sourcing new manufacturing customers from but certainly a busy thriving event to keep an eye on.
