Just a quick update on the two products we have developed, the BLMB Kit is a functional bracket for mounting bicycle lights to rowing, sculling, kayak and canoe craft that needs lights whilst training early mornings or evenings. We have a UK distributor (Neaves Rowing Services) and enquiries from France, Italy and USA. The product is proving very popular with some rowing clubs taking as many as 30 bracket kits.
Recently with product evaluations in the kayak sector it has become apparent kayakers/canoeists are not just wishing to mount lights but also GPS tracking devices opening up the bracket to daytime use, which is great news. However, we are considering more robust mounting options as the marathon event portage (where the boats and athletes have to quickly get out and back in the craft over obstacles such as locks) causes quite a few lateral knocks to the bracket so will be testing some solutions soon.
The Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Marathon is coming soon (29th March – 1st April 2013) so hope to have a working solution for then.

Our second product is the 2K Bow Ball is due to be in production this month, due to the innovation in this product comes some technical challenges of over-moulding the strengthened core with a soft outer but hopefully final tests will be concluded this week as we have two very keen customers awaiting delivery – the Oxford University Boat Race Crews and Leander Club in Henley-on-Thames who row in the famous salmon pink.
For Oxford, the Women’s Boat Race in Henley-on-Thames is fast approaching on Sunday 24th March at 3pm and the Men’s The Boat Race on Sunday 31st March at 16:30.
