Kavia Moulded Products are always looking to improve their internal processes and 3 such initiatives are work in progress at the moment.
Inspection area
A dedicated well-lit working area in the mould shop for the quality to inspect components and within this a cleared area just for visiting tool trial customers to take their mouldings for inspection.
Setters’ room
The idea here is again a dedicated area for the setting team to have all their equipment neatly stored and each to have purpose built trolley to load up with the planed tool change equipment and tool to improve down-time.
Goods in and out area
Currently the goods in and out come through the main entrance, which has restricted access for courier vehicles and extra handling for the production team. The area is moving to the main mould shop bay so the handling distance is shorter with a large table and shelving to clearly identify goods out and in. There also good clear access for vehicles to reverse up to the bay.
