Further to the case study article, Kavia’s Iain Hill never goes to a regatta without a bow ball in his pocket so he promote and get feedback for the product as there is always opportunity to network in the boat area, river or lakeside. Recently he attended the British Rowing Masters and made some good contacts there and this last weekend was racing again at Peterborough City Regatta on the Sunday in a Masters D coxed four.
The Peterborough Lake offers 4 lane racing over 1,000m, it was a lovely sunny day and great racing conditions. Iain’s crew made it through the heat comfortably but came 3rd in a great race with York RC and locals Peterborough/Loughborough composite crew losing 2nd by 0.6sec and 1st by 2 seconds to York. More training required Iain.
Iain ran into a representative from Peterborough City Rowing Club that had already ordered the 2K Bow Balls from Neaves Rowing the moment it was available and is planning to fit to their complete fleet of over 50 boats in due course.
Also met with Paul from PC Boat Repairs who was working hard promoting his business, he said in a follow up email on the Monday
‘It was good to meet you at Peterborough Regatta. I was impressed with your new 2k bow balls and have just placed an order with Neaves Rowing Services for 40 today′
It is great to experience such positive feedback first hand and the 2-part injection moulding with the strengthened coloured core is understood to be a great working solution to solve the problems of current single shot bow balls. Next steps are to get the complete colour range stock into our distributors and start approaching worldwide boat builders.
