The Plastics Design and Moulding exhibition and conference is specifically aimed at the design and moulding aspects of the UK’s plastics industry. Visiting PDM is completely free of charge for industry participants and has a broad section of industries:
Injection moulding, Polymer producers, Rapid prototyping, Rotational moulding, Compounders, Additive manufacturing, Blow moulding, Polymer distributors, Design, Ancillary equipment, Master batch and additives, Industry services, Automation and robotics, Software, Consumables, Mould component suppliers, Moulders.
The exhibition was held at the newly refurbished International Centre Telford, they have done a great job with the venue except I cannot believe there was no coffee shop for visitors arriving before the event opened!
For Kavia Moulded Products it was a great opportunity to meet with our supply chain and review new material developments, application case studies and strike collaborative relationships. The Kavia 2K bow Ball also featured on the Elasto stand as a case study of over-moulding two elastomer materials (Dryflex).
Our machine supplier Arburg had a stand and a micro-mould solution running which was insightful for a moulding Kavia runs a 60 impression component that is only 4mm long and 0.4mm in diameter.
There is also an extensive seminar program, we attended four seminars and will write about two of them:
- Future of Plastics by Smithers RAPRA
- Medical device design – taking innovation to the user by Smallfry
