For normal use, the two 25mm square 3M dual lock pads are 400 mushrooms/square inch on the bracket and 250 on the boat mounting surface. This is suitable for on the water use and transportation within legal speed limits and normal weather condition. For high performance mounting you have option to mount 400 on 400, contact your supplier for pad kits. Bicycle lights offer excellent visibility, waterproof (please check the Ingress Protection rating of your lights, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IP_Code) and long battery life.

Light Mounting options

Light mounting options include two handlebar mounting positions and one seat stem mounting position. This offers the user many permutations of lights so they can adhere to their local water authority regulations and club guidelines.

3M Dual lock fixing system

The bicycle light mounting bracket kit (BLMB) comes with the four 25mm square fitted. Simply clean the mounting surface (see fitting instructions) and peal the adhesive backing and bond to the boat surface. The light bracket can be easily removed from the clear mounting tape to transfer to other boats or storage. There is two types of tape and size to give the mounting performance. The bracket is fitted with 400 mushrooms/square inch and the boat surface is clear 250 mushrooms/square inch. Spare mounting kits of the clear 250 mushrooms/square inch are available to purchase separately. Sold in pair kits (4x pads) and 10’s (40x pads). High performance option is 400 mushroom/square inch for extreme condition use. [/su_tab] [su_tab title=”Instructions”]

1.  Identify mounting locations on your craft. You should consider:

a. Solid surface with minimum curvature.

b. No obstruction when setting boats on storage racks

c. Good lighting visibility

d. No obstruction to steering wires (where present)

e. Orientation of your bracket for lighting type and waterway regulations

2. Prepare surface and mount your bracket:

a. Ensure a minimum surface temperature of 10 degrees centigrade

b. Roughen glossy surfaces with light sandpaper

c. Use the supplied 3M cleaning swab to clean the contact areas

d. Refer to 3M VHB Acrylic Foam Tape 4952 PDF guidelines, (able to search on Google)

e. Remove adhesive backing from 3M dual lock clear pads

f. Press onto surface and leave in place for 1hr before use. Repeat with second mounting bracket using same swab

3. To remove and refit the bracket:

a. 3M dual lock fixing is strongest in lengthwise, remove by twisting

b. Refit by pressing firmly in each pad location, until achieving a click sensation
